<div style="text-align: justify;">
Totto-chan, The Little Girl at
the Window is a celebration of childhood, learning and caring. Each story is only a page or two,
each a delightful narrative of how Totto-chan views the world, and how Mr.
Kuroyanagi inspires the children to explore, learn, feel and have joy. There
are several charcoal drawings that capture the tenderness of the stories,
making us feel a part of Totto-chan's world. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
One of our favorite vignettes is
the story of her losing her hat in the septic tank at the school, and proceeds
to dig it out. The headmaster walks by, and after a few questions to satisfy
his curiosity, and hearing her earnest explanations, he lets her continue with
the simple instruction, "make sure you put it all back!" </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
We've enjoyed reading one or two
stories for bedtime off-and-on for a couple of years, and almost don't want to
finish the book because it will mean there are no more stories. Totto-chan
seems so real and loveable, and her headmaster is a role model for parents and
teachers. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
It is probably one of the most
important books I've ever read. Not for its heady philosophy, practical
instructions, or memorable quotes; but for its simple message of how wonderful
life can be when viewed through the eyes of an innocent child.</div>

<b>Mumbai, 20th March.</b>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There have been a series of break-ins at
Gulmohar View, a horsing society in the quiet suburb of Chembur. The
society is located just off Choitram Road.<br />
The first break-in took place ten days ago. Shortly after, three other
break-ins were reported. No items of high monetary value were stolen.
Although security has been tightened at Gulmohar View, the sting  of
break-ins seems to continue.<br />
Residents of Gulmohar View no longer feel safe. “It’s not safe anymore! I
 have changed the locks of all my doors for fear of thieves,” says 45
year old Mr. Patel.<br />
Police investigations are still on. A list of suspects is being drawn up. No arrests have been made as yet.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
A long time ago, a Chamorro
family that was part of the Achote tribe, had a young daughter and she
was very beautiful, for this reason she had many admirers.
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One day the young girl was very thirsty and she asked people for the
juice of a special fruit, everyone tried to find the fruit to give to
the young girl, but they couldn't find it. Sadly the girl got sick for
the thirst and died.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The father, full of sorrow, took the girl's body and buried it on a hill
 near the village. Then he put a beautiful headstone, which was covered
with flowers by the people.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One day, the villagers saw that a plant they never saw before started to
 grow on the girl's grave, they built a shelter to protect the plant.
After some years passed by, the plant grew twenty feet tall.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The plant also had a strange fruit that grew in it and one of them felt
to the floor and cracked open. The chief called the father of the girl
to eat the fruit, but he didn't do it, and called the girl's mother to
eat it. She did it and described the fruit as chewy and sweet.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
From that day on, the plant was called coconut tree, and it became one of the most love trees of that people.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<span style="font-family: "Verdana","sans-serif"; font-size: 10pt;">“Thanks
 for the prayers, the cooperation and the guidance. Hopefully another
